Boredom buster jar

There’s no such thing as ‘I’m bored’ when you’ve got a Boredom Busters jar.  This colourful jar is full of ideas that kids can do (mostly on their own) whenever 'boredom' strikes

Number of players:

1+

What you need:

  • Glass jar - big enough to fit your hand in the top such as a large pickle jar
  • Printer with A4 plain white paper
  • Coloured card
  • glass jar
  • glue
  • scissors

Activity:

  1. Find a reasonably large sized glass or plastic jar such as an old pickle jar and use a few drops of eucalytpus oil to peel off the label, or alternatively, purchase a plain glass jar from a discount store.
  2. Using the templates provided, download and print out the list of activities and labels.
  3. Cut out the jar label and lid label and attach to the jar with glue.
  4. Using coloured paper, measure double the size of each activity box and cut out individual squares.
  5. Fold the coloured paper in half
  6. Cut out each of the individual activies and stick them onto coloured paper backing.
  7. Place all the activities in the activity jar, ready for your child to select.
